U2 - War 25th Anniversary

2008 marked the 25th anniversary of the release of U2's album War and the US leg of the War Tour.

While I feel incredibly lucky to have been at that first show of the tour in Chapel Hill, I have a sense of awe about the 1983 Red Rocks show in Denver that was filmed. The first time MTV aired it in 1983, I taped it and have watched it many times. With the exception of the photos I have from the Chapel Hill show, the Red Rocks show is the closest visual I have to the show I saw. Edge was even wearing the same clothes.

Journalist and commentator Gil Asawaka was my guest on Deaconlight at ErrorFM.com in the summer of 2008 to talk about being at the Red Rocks show in Denver, June 5, 1983. Gil was one of only about 4,000 people who attended the Red Rocks show, which almost didn't happen because of bad weather.
