Bono Singing Electric Co in the Rain 1983

I'm not sure where the flag is now, but Bono is still up there singing.
Below is a clip from this performance. You can tell by the audience sound when Bono is climbing up the ladder. Then he gets on top and starts "Singing in the Rain." After he climbed back down and the song was over, he says a little piece before introducing - ironically - "I Fall Down," which is the next song they play.
The audio still needs a bit of cleaning up. I have more bits I will post when I get a chance.
