Thanks for your letters. It's always nice to hear from those of you who got turned on to new artists by listening to Deaconlight (and related shows). You can write to us at dd@deaconlight.com. If you do write to us, please let us know if it is ok to post your letter here and if you do NOT want us to post your name. I only post letters from writers who give me permission to do so.

Recently, I thought about a song that I know I heard on Deaconlight. You know, how part of a melody gets stuck in your brain and you start to wonder "who was that song by?".. <complete text>

I was just sitting with my trusty little Apple getting a "good" address to send a note of thanks and appreciation to the folks at NPR...and through fog and chance along came a link to Deaconlight! <complete text>

Geez...how did I stumble on this site! Ain't technology wonderful. I went to bed every night when I was in high school (late 60's-early 70's) listening to Deaconlight Serenade. <complete text>

The American Underslung video was great and thought you might like to hear the attached. This is The Othermothers live at the Brewery in Raleigh in the mid 80s. <complete text>

Your website is awesome. Love the bands, the info, interviews, music, videos, photos, you got it all! I will definitely spend some time visiting Deaconlight, regular basis. I miss Steve's [Poole] red guitar, he cooked. Drumming back in the eighties was hard work, still love rocking out... <complete text>

I used to listen to your alternative music shows on 107.5 back in the 80's with great enjoyment. I was so sick of the mainstream music... <complete text>

It was super-great talking to you tonight. You made me laugh and smile and feel really good about what I'd done at WFDD all those years ago. <complete text>

I love your Deaconlight website! Lots of information and surprises were found there. For example, I had no idea that U2 had opened for Todd! That was a real shock! I wonder if they were fans of Todd's and vice versa. Even more surprising, perhaps, is that Grandmaster Flash was also on the same bill! Wow that must have been some concert, wish I were there. <complete text>

The site looks great. The essays are interesting. Stories and articles from college radio's heyday seem to have been underrepresented on the web. <complete text>

I could go on and on about the musical education I got, even from the more obscure artists you played. There was nowhere else to hear that music- if there had been, I would have found it. I loved Deaconlight! <complete text>

You have to keep in mind that as a teenager living in a small town of typical jacked-up Camaros sporting the latest RnR Flavor of the month group, that Deaconlight was a dose of sanity. <complete text>
Do You Have Deaconlight Shows on Tape or CD?
Many people over the years have told me they have copies of Deaconlight, New Generation (WKZL), and Try This (Z-93) shows. I have a few. Perhaps we can do some swapping. I'll do some digging around and see what I can find and burn to CD. As I find them, I'll post a list of them here and we'll figure out the best way to get you the ones you want. I have no intention of selling these - just trying to get the music out.
If you have a shows you can send for the collection, drop me a note and let me know either the date or some of the songs on it so we can identify the show.
