Hi DD,
about a hundred years ago, I used to catch your show at Wake Forest every chance I had. I was living in High Point at the time, and god knows, back in those desolate '70s-'80s with no internet or even MTV, Deaconlight was a great oasis for music.
flash-forward 99 years and I'm on a web site set up for audio lovers called SteveHoffman.tv. through the miracle of the internet, I get to know a few guys in the D.C. area and even drive up a few times to meet them at record shows. one of the guys is Gardo. he's a cool kid.
about a year later (that would be now), someone posts a thread about Let's Active on the Hoffman forum. I never even knew anyone outside of Winston-Salem had any idea Let's Active existed. but here are all these posts from people all over the country who were/are big fans. I chime in and mention that the only place I'd ever heard of Let's Active was "on a pretty decent radio station at Wake Forest University."
who should join in but Gardo, telling me he was a dj there. I'm blown away by the smallness of the world. I write back and say, hey did you ever know DeeDee (didn't know how to spell your name). he says, of course, and posts a link to your web site.
so now I'm further blown away, but grateful for a chance to write and offer a belated Thank You. you can't imagine how much terrific music you, Gardo and your co-workers turned me onto way back when. hope you're doing well. god knows, radio sure needs you.
here's a link to the Hoffman thread. thought you might get a kick out of it.
Jeff
