I love The Jam and this is one of my favorite records. Paul Weller's lyrics always tended to be a little more serious and a lot more poetic than other punk-pop bands.

The record kicks off with "This is the Modern World" and also includes pretty songs such as "Life From a Window." I can't believe in 1977 I was so wrapped up in Emerson, Lake and Palmer I missed this when it first came out.
