The Shirts were around during the late 70s New York scene. I wouldn't necessarily classify them as new wave although because they one of the classic CBGBs bands. They they did do some good rocking songs like "Teenage Crutch."

I don't understand why we don't hear more about this band. This is a great album that's hard to find now.
