Classic & Current Contemporary Non-Schlock-Rock Metropolitan MusicBruce Woolley and the Camera Club [English Garden] (1979) - Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club
« Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club
I'm surprised I don't see more about this record. It actually came out before The Buggles' LP The Age of Plastic. The UK version is called English Garden.
What's the connection? Bruce Woolley co-wrote the song to MTV's inaugural video "Video Killed the Radio Star" as well as "Clean Clean," along with Buggles' Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes. Both songs on this record and The Age of Plastic.
I always liked to play Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club's version of "Clean Clean" when I was cleaning my house.
More trivia about this album: The keyboardist for the band was Thomas Dolby, who as we know went on to a techno-pop career of his own in the 80s. Bassist Matthew Selgiman went on to play with the Soft Boys.
