Classic & Current Contemporary Non-Schlock-Rock Metropolitan MusicSabotage (Live) (1979) - John CaleJohn Cale is a legend, having been with the Velvet Underground way back when. During this tour in 1980, Cale and his band stopped off at Wake Forest between gigs in DC (I think) and Atlanta. It was short notice and he gave a free show in the lounge at Reynolda Hall. I think the school paid enough to cover their travel expenses. Cale came by the station before the show. Somehow we made arrangements for us to pick up him and the band from the Motel 6 after the show and take them out. We went to a bar called the Sly Fox. His guitar player kept hitting up on me. But since I was going out with the Weekend Wizard at the time and WW was with us, he wasn't really a bother. He was actually very nice. Cute, too!
