Richard Lloyd - Alchemy Alchemy by Richard Lloyd is an excellent record that gets four quarter notes from DD

Released 1979

This was Richard Lloyd's first solo record after the breakup of Television. Even though Lloyd didn't seem to get as much attention as Tom Verlaine, you can tell by listening to this record that he was an important element in Television's music. Great record it is, too.

I remember running into Peter Holsapple of The dB's while standing in line to see a late show right after this record came out. He commented that I was the only college DJ who played the song "Alchemy" all the way through. There's a part in the middle that repeats over where Lloyd is singing the word "Alchemy." Apparently other DJs who played this song cut it off there.
