By the time The Police released Zenyatta Mondatta, they were becoming an established band getting airplay on the local commercial stations. This presented the usual dilemma of how much I could play this record without compromising Deaconlight's alternative playlist status.
Even though this record didn't grab me as much as the first two, I still found non-hit songs to play on Deaconlight that I liked a lot, such as "When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What Is Still Around" and "Voices Inside My Head." Still I think some of the sheen had come off their badges for me - at the time - and I didn't become too attached to this record then.
