Graham Parker is a gifted songwriter that never seemed to catch on big in the US. He was around in the pre-punk era and managed to capture the new wave audience of the early 80s.

I had hoped with this record commercial radio would give Parker a listen since Bruce Springsteen sings with Parker on the the song "Endless Night." I used to play it a lot on the New Generation Show at WKZL, but the song never worked its way into the regular format.

The Up Escalator was Parker's last record with backup band The Rumour.
