Classic & Current Contemporary Non-Schlock-Rock Metropolitan MusicA Rush of Blood to the Head (Aug. 26, 2002) - ColdplayI suppose this is the last Coldplay record that I will feel is my own. Even though Coldplay have had significant press since the release of Parachutes in 2000, it is nothing like the hype that has come along with A Rush of Blood to the Head. Coldplay are all over the place now. Since I don't much listen to the radio, I never paid any attention to what the "hits" might be off this record. I am personally fond of "Clocks, "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face," and "Daylight." Every song is great. If you get a chance to check out the concert that airs on Ovation or Trio from time-to-time, be sure to catch it. Although I don't see how Chris Martin gets through a concert without a neck-ache after hooking his head over the keyboard for so long. Ray Manzarek does this same thing in early Doors videos I've seen. Let's hope the hype doesn't bury Coldplay. We need them to take us through the end of the decade and beyond.
